The Wrestling season has come to a close in the state and Highland finished on a high note. The team excelled in their district and sent some athletes to the state tournament. Junior Nate Rolling finished the highest on the team in fourth place in the 182 pound weight class. The team was very proud of the way the season ended and is looking forward to the future where they hope to have more success like Rolling’s.

“I felt like I did great this year, I improved a lot from last year,” Rolling said.

Rolling also took on a leadership role this year which included getting more kids to come compete on the team. In the previous year, around 35 kids were on the team and this year the team had about 75 kids. Rolling hopes to see wrestling grow more at Highland like it did this year.

Looking forward, the team has a bright future with many underclassmen returning.

“During the Summer, I am trying to get people to come with me to a month long camp in Minnesota so as a team we can have more success,” Rolling said.

With Rolling leading them the team is hoping to build on this season success.
