Gifts That People Can Bury Their Face In…And Other Bizarre Gifts

The ostrich pillow is one of the most bizarre gifts that can be found on the market.

It’s that time of year again. Time to prove you are an extremely thoughtful and creative person through the quality of the gifts you give. Fortunately, there are two routes one can take when scrambling to find the perfect gift for family, friends, or that special someone.

The first route is the “I really care about you but had no idea what gift you would really love so I played it safe and got you a gift card to Barnes and Noble.” This path is the one most often taken due to the pressure to get everyone in your life a present, instead of just a select few. The benefits of doing this are not going broke and always knowing that gift cards will be in stock.

The second route is the “I really care about you and want to give you an unforgettable gift so that you never forget how awesome of a person I am.” This path can be risky because it could either be a hit or miss. They might love the present, or start to think you’re a little crazy. If you want to give them a gift that they will never forget, you have to step out of the box and just go for it.

Here is a list of the top 5 most bizarre, and definitely real, gifts one can give this year.

#5 Flying alarm clock: Know someone who can never manage to be on time to anything? Or maybe it’s you that needs as much extra motivation to leave your bed each morning as possible. Well the perfect gift for any over-sleeper is a flying alarm clock. As soon as this alarm clock goes off, it takes flight. The only way to get the device to shut up is to actually get out of bed and catch it. Unless the sound of an alarm flying around the room is soothing, this device might just be the only thing that can wake up any deep sleeper.

#4 Nubrella: Nobody likes getting soaking wet, but apparently nobody likes holding up a five pound umbrella either. There’s no need to worry about not having a free hand while it’s raining anymore though, all thanks to the Nubrella. This hands-free umbrella allows users to do other important things while walking through the rain, such as texting or tweeting. This gift is perfect for anyone who views rain as a major inconvenience and interruption of their daily routine, or simply someone who doesn’t mind walking around looking like an astronaut.

#3 Handerpants: Ever feel like your hands are too exposed? Looking for something to comfortably cover them up? Have no fear, handerpants are here! These fingerless gloves have the look and feel of men’s underwear briefs, in fact they are made out of the exact same materials. They can be used as a base layer for a pair of gloves, or just to make a unique fashion statement. These would be a great gift for someone who doesn’t feel uncomfortable wearing underwear on their hands. Or perhaps someone with constantly cold hands who just wants a light layer to keep them warm. Either way, handerpants could be seen on runways very soon, so don’t miss out, invest in a pair now!

#2 Grass-covered flip-flops: Friends with someone who is a lover of summer… or just anything but winter time? Whenever winter gets too depressing and a major pick-me-up is needed, a pair of flip-flops can be the solution to the winter time blues. Grass flip-flops bring summer with anyone wherever they may go, thanks to the durable and synthetic grass beneath their toes. Now it’s possible to walk around with the feeling of soft and luscious grass, bringing a constant reminder of sweet summertime. Plus, you will never have to worry about stepping on sharp rocks or nasty bugs in these. Nature is now available at the soles of your feet!

#1 Ostrich pillow: Have a best friend who is always sleepy? Do they complain about not being able to fall asleep at any time because they feel self-conscious about possible drool or snoring problems? Don’t worry, now there is a way they can fall asleep in any public place without feeling stupid…just looking really stupid. The Ostrich pillow is a revolutionary napping device that is made of flexible fabric and filled with micro balls. It provides cushioning around the head and covers the eyes, leaving an open space for breathing of course. It even has extra cushioning around the ears, making it possible to fall asleep in any position. Even better, there’s open space at the top of the pillow to place their hands in. Now falling asleep at a desk will be easier than ever before. It’s just a matter of how much they care about looking exactly like Admiral Ackbar.

These gifts may seem a bit impractical or overbearing, but they are certainly presents your loved ones will never forget about. Of course, these are on the extreme side of creative and crazy and there are more realistic options out there. However, in order to give someone a gift they will never forget, risks must be taken. If the gift fits the person perfectly, then by all means they should have it… no matter how bizarre.
