Lady Rams Soccer Senior Night Suppresses Season

Senior night was a battle to the end for the lady rams of varsity soccer. Unfortunately a battle that was lost with a 4-1 loss against East.

The skies were just clearing up around the time that the game started, and a plethora of camping chairs stood inches from the boundary lines providing for front row seats. While having a slow start of constant back and forth between the two teams, East scored on the Rams about 15 minutes into the half. What in soccer is a potentially a fatal lead, the Rams took in stride and matched the leopards with two minutes to spare in the first half. Despite the general good spirits of the Rams, as well as the rather large crowd in support for Varsity, East regained the upper hand, ending the game as a loss against the leopards.

But it wasn’t all about the game for the players. “We definitely wanted to win, there’s a lot of emotion right now, but this season overall has been good. He had our ups and downs as a team, but I really hope we all stay friends and keep in touch,” Kara Cook, one of the seniors on the team said.

Many others expressed their love for the team and for the sport. There were tears shed, good memories shared, and photos taken after the game.

“It’s the girls that made it fun,” Izzy Benson, another senior on the team said. “I’ve known some of these girls for all four years, and I’m really going to miss them.”
