We are all excited for the holiday break, but three days in we find ourselves sitting at home doing nothing, rolling out of bed at noon not wanting to get out of our sweats. So if you are one of those people that is sitting on the couch binge watching stranger things with your cat while crunching on yet another candy cane, here are some ideas for you to enjoy your holiday break.

Grab your phone and text all your friends! There is so much to do but these are some of my favorites.

Canyon Pictures: In a cute outfit with a camera around your shoulder, embrace the cold snowy weather and go take some pictures up the canyon. Winter is one of the best times of the year to have a photo shoot because the glistening snow makes for a great back drop.

Extreme Movie Night: If you find yourself wanting to stay in your pajamas all day, that’s okay too. Invite all your friends over! Build a fort, stock up on all your favorite junk food, grab some more candy canes to crunch on and enjoy a relaxing and delicious night, with all your favorite movies.

Skiing: For the more adventurous side of your personality, go rent some ski gear and head up to your favorite ski resort to hit the slopes. Utah’s snow is named best in the world and there’s no better time to experience the season.

Fifth Water: If you don’t mind a bit of a drive and want to calm the sore muscles after a long day of skiing, make a little road trip up to fifth water hot springs with all your friends. The small hike to the steamy blue water is well worth it and a great way to relax.

Temple Lights: For those in a relationship or wanting to take your crush on a cute winter date because you are tired of sitting at home watching a scary movie on Netflix that you’ve seen at least ten other times, grab your coats and go see the temple lights. The temple lights are a great date to go on because it won’t cost you anything, but is an unforgettable sight.

Sunset Drive: If you are trying to land that perfect kiss, make a stop at maverick grab some delicious hot coco and drive to a spot of your choice to watch the sunset with the girl or boy of your dreams.

Ice Skating: If you are the type that loves to hold hands, drive down to the Gallivan Center, rent some skates and maybe some for you date too. This is a great date to go on because if you are really bad at skating, it gives you an excuse to grab onto your date but not in the “me too” kind of way.

Park City: If you don’t mind the cold and a bit of a drive head up to park city, grab some dinner and hit the shops on Main Street. [MORE]

Baking:  If you like to spend quality time with your family over the holiday break grab some flower, eggs, and sugar then make a delicious batch cookies. And don’t forget to sneak some of the cookie dough when your mom isn’t looking.

Decorating a Christmas tree: For the families that tend to do things late notice, head down to your nearest Christmas tree lot and pick the perfect tree to decorate! With Christmas music playing and the endless eggnog is a great way to spend the night with your family.

Tubing: If you and your family are the more outdoorsy type put on your snow pants, coat, gloves, hats and head up to park city to go tubing, or to the nearest and biggest hill you can find.

Some families on the other hand don’t have the money to celebrate holidays the way most of us love to. So if you are in the giving mood head to the mall with your family and each pick something to give to someone or a family in need, so they can have a good holiday break as well.
